Creative ways for restaurants to get more positive online reviews

What you’ve heard about reviews is true — people are more likely to leave a review when they’ve had a negative experience than they are when they’ve had a positive one. For restaurants, this can make it especially difficult to get positive, 5-star reviews online. When people walk out of a restaurant really satisfied with the food and the experience, they’re likely to become repeat customers, but not very likely to seek you out and review you online.

Use kiosks

Setting up a kiosk or two on the way out the door for customers to leave you a quick review on is a fantastic way to get more positive reviews.

These kiosks are just tablets with an easy-to-use app on them, where anyone can stop and leave you a quick review as they’re leaving the restaurant. You’ll find that you’ll get a lot more reviews if it’s made really easy for your patrons.

Takeaway cards

When you have Rize Reviews, you’ll get a simple, short URL that patrons can type in to go directly to a page where they can leave you a review. This makes giving people cards with your URL on it very easy, and helps them remember to leave you a review either on their laptop when they get home or with their mobile device after they leave. These cards can be handed to your customers by your servers, or by your host/hostess as they head out the door.

Those customers who receive the card are much more likely to leave a review than those who aren’t given anything.

Fun takeaways

Once you’ve got your short unique URL, you can put it on just about anything you want to give to your customers! You could have mints made with special wrappers that have your URL on them, or toothpicks, or a sticky note on their receipt, or whatever you’d like. Get creative!

Ask for an email

If a patron has really enjoyed his or her experience at your restaurant, it’s likely that they’d sign up to be on your email list to hear about your upcoming events and specials.
